Quiz Activation via CMS in Crystal allows faculty to use quizzes created in Aakashguru directly inside Crystal without recreating them. Aakashguru remains the authoring system, while Crystal acts as the consumption and execution layer. This integration reduces repetitive work, ensures consistency, and enables smoother in-class assessments.

Using quiz activation via CMS

Viewing Aakashguru quizzes in Crystal

  1. Open Crystal.

  2. Navigate to the lecture.

  3. Open the Quiz tab.

  4. Crystal automatically fetches all quizzes created in Aakashguru for that lecture.

Quizzes appear with clear labels indicating their origin and status.

Previewing and managing quizzes

  1. Select a quiz from the list.

  2. Preview questions and structure inside Crystal.

  3. Choose one of the following actions:

    • Save as Draft. Keeps the quiz unpublished but available.

    • Publish. Marks the quiz as ready to be launched.

    • Launch. Starts the quiz session for students.

The quiz list refreshes automatically to reflect the latest state.

Creating new quizzes

  • Quiz creation continues to happen in Aakashguru.

  • Crystal shows a clear call-to-action that redirects faculty to Aakashguru for quiz creation.

  • Any quiz created in Aakashguru will appear in Crystal automatically once synced.

Quiz behavior and rules

  • Quizzes are mapped to Crystal using the lecture ID.

  • Only quizzes created for the corresponding lecture appear in that lecture’s Quiz tab.

  • Aakashguru-created quizzes appear in Crystal with “Draft” and “CMS” labels.

  • Quiz ordering follows the most recently created quiz first.

  • Quiz data remains in sync with Aakashguru in real time.

  • Crystal does not duplicate quizzes authored in Aakashguru.

Data & sync behavior

  • Quiz ingestion happens automatically when the lecture is opened.

  • Sync ensures quiz status, metadata, and availability match Aakashguru.

  • No manual refresh is required in normal conditions.

Access & permissions

Faculty
Can view, preview, save as draft, publish, and launch Aakashguru quizzes from Crystal.

Students
Can participate in quizzes once they are launched during the lecture.

Troubleshooting

Quizzes not visible in Crystal
Ensure the quiz is created in Aakashguru and mapped to the correct lecture. Try refreshing the lecture view.

Quiz shows as unavailable
This may occur if required metadata is missing. A message is shown asking you to refresh or check Aakashguru.

Network or sync failure
A retry message is shown. Retry once connectivity is restored.

Do I need to create quizzes again in Crystal?
No. Quizzes are authored only in Aakashguru and consumed in Crystal.

Can I edit quiz questions inside Crystal?
Quiz authoring and editing remain in Aakashguru. Crystal supports preview, publish, draft, and launch actions only.

Will this create duplicate quizzes in Crystal?
No. The system ensures zero duplication by syncing directly from Aakashguru.
